Welcome to my Flute Kit page.

Have you ever wanted to make your own Native American Style Flute but have been put off because you

don't have a good tablesaw or router ???????

WELL!!!! Here is the answer to your prayers. a Flute Kit with all the hard work done for you. The bore has

been routed out and the external rounded off.

This kit contains.......1 x Flute Blank

1 x Fetish block

1 x Stainless Steel Spacer Plate

1 x Leather Thonging

1 x Instructions on the care and use of Flute

and last but not least.......1 x Instructional DVD on the Making of a Native American Style Flute.

The timber for the Flute Blank will normally be Red Cedar, be it Western Red or Australian Red, but other

timbers will be offered from time to time. Red Cedar is the Traditional timber used and gives a more pleasant,

mellow quality to your flute. The Fetish/Block timber will usually be an exotic species.

Using the accompanying DVD, you will be able to make your own Native American Style Flute in the

fundamental key of F#.

The only tools you will require to finish this flute off are hand tools and a bit of "Elbow Grease."

You will need a drill and drill bits, a small round file, a small flat file, some sandpapers in various

grades and an essential item will be a Chromatic Tuner to enable you to tune your flute not only

to its fundamental note, but also the finger holes. These are quite inexpensive, a good quality

digital tuner will set you back about $35 Aus, but if your intention is to continue making these

flutes, then a better quality tuner would be a great asset.

As you can see in the above photo, I have also marked on the top of the flute body at what is

known as the "Nest", the edges of the "Plug" wall which separates the two internal chambers. When

you watch the DVD you will see where these marks come into play in the creation of your flute.

The above kit will cost $75 Aus PLUS postage and packing.
